A Gainesville man was killed on Wednesday, Oct. 22, as he was removing a large limb from the top of a tree in northern Hall County.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred just before 2:45 p.m. in the 4300 block of Mount Vernon Road.

Antonio Denova, 28, was reportedly trimming a large tree limb when the limb broke free and trapped him against other trees around 25-30 feet above the ground.

Denova suffered traumatic injuries to his head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Authorities said Denova was wearing climbing gear and had tree-trimming equipment with him.
