Romman is also currently in a runoff for the Democratic nomination for State Senate District 7 against civil rights attorney Rahul Garabadu.

"I am incredibly honored to be named a member of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus team," Romman told Access North Georgia on May 19. "I'm going to literally be in the redistricting fight right now. Voters get to see, not just hypothesize what it would look like to have me fighting for them, and actually get to see the difference in that experience."

On the "Drive at 5" Monday, Romman revealed she had not heard anything from her Republican colleagues.

"Nothing," Romman said. "We are pretty sure they already have these maps drawn up, because all of this goes back to President Trump said they need to do this because he wants to maintain power."

Romman added that Trump has "a lot at stake" with his fund for people convicted of Jan. 6 crimes.

"They see the writing on the wall, and they want to change the rules again," Romman said.

She went on to say her Congressional Representative has changed three times in as many terms. Romman also spoke about the data behind redistricting.

"If you look at the primary election voter data, 46% of voters were not white ... you're going to see a lot of spin around how this has nothing to do with race ... we've been wanting to basically educate the public and voters and our constituents, let them know that the governor had originally said he wasn't going to do this until the end of the year," Romman said. "Those numbers have made clear ... the governor is actually seeing the power that Georgians have been building, particularly this sort of multiracial coalition that is representative of our state, and it's clearly making them nervous."

Early voting in Gwinnett County will run from June 6-12 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and runoff election day is June 16 at the same time.
