One man has suffered serious injuries following a crash in Gainesville Sunday evening.

Hall County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the scene on Titshaw Drive just after 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.

The investigation determined Donny James Carroll, 63, of Gainesville, was traveling westbound on Titshaw Drive in the area of Cross Street on his motorcycle. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 16-year-old boy, was traveling eastbound in the same area.

Both vehicles allegedly traveled into the center of the roadway and made contact with each other. As a result, Carroll was ejected from the motorcycle and landed about 20 feet from the crash site.

Carroll reportedly suffered serious injuries, including an open fracture to his left femur. The teenage driver was not injured.

Authorities said the teen driver has been charged with failure to maintain lane and cited for violation of license restrictions. He was allegedly operating a vehicle on a learner's permit and did not have a licensed driver in the car with him.

Carroll also has been cited for failure to maintain lane.

The roadway was closed for more than an hour for the crash investigation.
