Cochran currently serves as principal of Tesnatee Gap Elementary School in the White County School District and brings more than a decade of educational experience to the position.

“I am honored to serve as the new principal of North Hall Middle School and to work alongside its dedicated staff, students, and families,” Cochran said. “As a resident of the North Hall community, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me, and I look forward to serving the community that my family proudly calls home.”

Cochran said North Hall Middle School’s “LEAD” philosophy, Love, Effort, Attitude and Discipline, closely aligns with her personal values and leadership approach.

“I am committed to building upon these strengths through strong partnerships with families, meaningful relationships with students and staff, and an unwavering focus on student success,” Cochran said. “I am grateful to Mr. Schofield and the Board of Education for the opportunity to return to Hall County Schools and serve the North Hall community.”

Since 2023, Cochran has led Tesnatee Gap Elementary School as principal. Before that role, she served as assistant principal at White Sulphur Elementary School from 2022 to 2023 and Oakwood Elementary School from 2019 to 2022. Before entering school administration, she spent six years as a classroom teacher at White Sulphur Elementary.

Throughout her career, Cochran has also served as an athletic coach, building a reputation for fostering positive school culture, supporting student achievement, and developing strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.

Schofield praised Cochran’s leadership experience and commitment to educational excellence.

“Noel Cochran’s deep understanding of effective teaching and learning has helped students and educators succeed throughout her career,” Schofield said. “She has a proven ability to support teachers, improve student outcomes, and foster positive school cultures where students and staff thrive.”

Schofield added that Cochran’s roots in Hall County, combined with her experience as both an educator and coach, make her well-suited to lead the North Hall Middle School community.

“I am confident she will be an outstanding leader for the North Hall Middle School community,” Schofield said.

Cochran holds Leadership Tier II certification through Metro RESA and Leadership Tier I certification from the University of Georgia. She earned an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Piedmont College. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia.

Pending board approval, Cochran will assume leadership of North Hall Middle School ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
